By Jame T. Flexner
James T. Flexner's use of direct quotations from Hamilton's correspondence is one of the great pleasures of his book, making it a smooth, easy-to-read style. The text delves into the psychiatric reasons for Hamilton's sometimes aggressive and impulsive behavior, but he did so in a reasonable manner. This gives logical reasons behind his behavior such as illegitimate birth, his mother's behavior and his orphan status. The book talks of Hamilton's hard work, sincerity, rashness and impulsiveness as well as his distain for humanity.
